Join Fieldstone Animal Inn at Checkerspot Brewing Company to learn the essential skills and etiquette for enjoying pet-friendly public spaces with your canine companion. This “Petiquette” program focuses on polite behavior, safety, and stress-free outings, teaching your dog how to stay calm, responsive, and unobtrusive in busy environments such as restaurants, cafes, and shops.

Key Skills:

• Place: This exercise teaches your dog to go to a specific spot (like a bed or mat) and stay there calmly until released. It encourages self-control and relaxation, providing more freedom than a traditional “stay.”
• Rocket Recall: One of the most crucial exercises for busy environments, it teaches your dog to come to you in crowded or chaotic situations.
• With Me: A great technique for entering new or busy places, helping your dog stay calm and under control.
• Proper Leash Use: Teaching how to walk your dog on a leash without pulling or distractions.
• Respectful Behavior Around People and Dogs: Ensuring your dog behaves politely in public spaces, interacting respectfully with others.

This program empowers dog owners to enjoy more freedom while being responsible ambassadors for dogs in public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their dog’s favorite treats to the class, though extras will also be provided.
